This is the 2nd time I have used MJP when selling and buying our house. The online portal is brilliant for keeping up to date with progress, seeing correspondence between all parties, uploading/downloading documents and communicating with the team at MJP. If you need to speak to someone in person you can request a call back, but 99% can be managed online. It is a great system. Their fees are reasonable for the services provided, I would not hesitate to recommend them, and will certainly use them again in my next move.

Used MJP Conveyancing for a purchase as FTBs with a no chain property, they managed to exchange and complete within 12 weeks! The portal was excellent, easy to use and so much easier than scrolling through a chain of emails. All staff who dealt with our case were knowledgeable, friendly and responded quickly. Application to register the house was also submitted within a couple of weeks, even though it is more complex with it previously being unregistered. Would highly recommend over a large firm with potentially lower fees, you really get what you pay for with MJP.

We came across MJP Conveyancing in 2018 when we bought a home and since then we came back and used them several times more as we sold and bought a few different properties. What makes us come back: 1. We always get an answer to our questions on the same day. 2. All incoming post / emails from the other party is reviewed in a day or less 3. We get to read ALL communications held with the other party's solicitors and this is so so useful. Most solicitors only bother to tell their client what they think they ought to know but then sometimes things get missed. If we didn't get to read everything we would be wondering what was happening and why. But instead we know exactly who is holding the process. And guess what, it isn't us! If all solicitors worked this way, conveyancing would be much quicker for sure. I am aware some people don't like the service because there isn't only 1 point of contact. Yes up until exchange, there can be 5 different people working on our file. And some are perhaps better than others (I had a few favourites this time around). However this is the way they found to speed response time and overall it works really well. We will keep using MJP Conveyancing when we next buy or sell a house.

We have recently exchanged on our first home using MJP, as first time buyers we found the portal very useful as it was very transparent showing us what was being said to the estate agents, sellers solicitors, etc. You don’t deal with one person you deal with lots of different people for different areas however this worked for us as we felt it made the process more efficient. MJP were a brilliant service. We made contact with a few conveyancing services prior to going with MJP and each of those were slow to answer telephone calls, higher pricing and not as welcoming. After being recommended by a friend I contacted MJP via the phone and they were more than happy to walk me through the process one step at a time; they were not pushy and gave me all the time I needed to make my decision. After agreeing with my partner, we continued ahead with MJP and they continued to provide us with excellent service. The online portal was super easy to use and allowed us to track each step and ask questions throughout. I was a little concerned at the start thinking they would be slow to respond given they are an online based service however they were always actioning everything within a few hours (sometimes minutes!). Finally at the point of exchange they wrapped everything up with ease. In addition to the above, MJP went above and beyond with gaining particular certificates required for our property. Had it not been for them we could have found ourselves in a very difficult position in years to come! Quite simply, they are the best conveyancers that I could have hoped to find. MJP is the best conveyancers I’ve ever worked with. It’s not the first property I’ve bought and the service I received from MJP is second to none. There is full transparency of all communication sent out and received from all parties and you have direct access to it in your file in real time. You can set up a call to speak to a member of the team through the portal and they will call you back at the time you’ve scheduled it. I found this type of engagement a game changer as you’re never in the dark about progress of your case and you can always speak to someone to resolve queries. The information they share on the portal about things to think about and potential issues was an eye opener as well and helped me through the process. I can’t speak highly enough about MJP I truly was amazed by their professionalism and diligence.

As first time buyers we were nervous about the buying process. MJP has provided us with an outstanding service not only in efficiency but also transparency. Very responsive, prompt and helpful. Good value as well compared to other firms. Process was clear and easy. Work was completed quickly and I was kept well informed at every step. Exchange team were very thorough and I felt like MJP looked after my interests very well. The online / tech led nature of the service provided may not suit everyone so read their info well before you sign up. You will get different people dealing with your account but this means it is done by the right person at the right time and quickly, so it didn't bother me at all. Overall I couldn't fault the service and the value for money. Very impressed

MJP are my go to conveyancer! Having used them multiple times in the past and more recently in 2024. I must say the team are absolutley fantastic. The communication is on point and you are kept up to date every step of the way. A massive shout out must go to Victoria, they really need to look after her. She was an absolute diamond in my recent property sale, and to be honest without her, I do not think the sale would of went through. While their primary communication method is via their portal, the call back function is very useful. It allowed you to discuss more serious matters and it greatly assisted in helping us make an informed decision, which turned out to be the right one! MJP was brilliant. However, the initial impression wasn’t the best. We paid the deposit and then we were fired with so much information and actions that it was confusing what we needed to do first. This would have been better to action us things, wait for a response then send the next bit. Once the initial bundle of information was dealt with, it was a lot more manageable and understandable what was being asked of us. They respond very quickly and keep you in the loop with everything what’s going on. The estate agents were always coming to us for the latest information because MJP were so on point with information. Although the first impression wasn’t the best, we couldn’t have had a better service from MJP and would be highly recommending them to friends and family.

Very fast turnaround on comms, to us, the agent and the buyers solicitor. The majority of comms to and from us was online. The system that they used was very easy to understand and kept everything in one place. They were highly effective and at a reasonable price.

The online portal is a bit overwhelming at first with all the information, but once you get to grips with it the communication is very transparent, updates are almost daily, responses very quick (within a few hours typically) and things seem to be moving along as fast as possible. They also seem to have picked up on small details about the property we are buying and raised relevant enquiries. They very quickly turned things around to meet an exchange date we and the rest of the chain requested. Would definitely recommend and use again! After completion our estate agent even commented on how good they had been and on the ball, and that they were going to recommend them in the future too

MJP really surpassed my expectations. I've just used them to sell my house, and I'm honestly not sure how my experience of working with them could have been better. They were extremely prompt throughout the entire process. Every single time I contacted them, I received a reply within a couple of hours, usually sooner. They kept me informed regarding buyer correspondence and actions, and while most of this contact was carried out through online messaging, they were happy to arrange a telephone call when I wanted to discuss a matter in more depth. They were also organised, giving me a clear sense of what forms I needed to fill out in order to exchange contracts as soon as possible. And all this for a very reasonable fee! As first time buyers going into this we were concerned that we wouldn’t know what was required and when, however the staff at MJP and fast communication through the portal meant that every action we needed to take was clear with no unnecessary delays added. While we were initially skeptical about this firm, due to the low price and horror internet stories about cheap solicitors, the experience was quite smooth. The online platform , while a bit overwhelming in the beginning, is quite intuitive. Its difficult to reach them on the phone they are very responsive online (usually answer in less than 1h in enquiries in their platform). The only downside is that it seems that multiple different people handle your case so there is some risk for miscommunication and repetition of the same info. However whatever problem came up, was solved in the end. Given their fee levels, they are super recommended.

We did not try to contact them via phone at any point as we felt their communication via the chat log was great, I did hear from agents it could be hard to speak to anyone as the number provided only went to a voicemail I think? I still highly recommend MJP to anyone

Diligent, Modern (online) & Efficient MJP utilise an online 24/7 portal to manage communication, status/progression & documents. I found this handy when trying to juggle a hectic personal/work life with a first time house purchase. For trickier parts where I felt that a back and forth discussion was needed I was able to utilise the portal to arrange a call back at a convenient time. At no point did I feel MJP were not on top of the situation or dragging their feet (a common problem in the industry from what I hear).

All members of staff very prompt, professional in handling replies and provide a great level of service. The online portal is great. No longer the old days where you'd have to keep phoning the solicitor to get updates and then the secretary telling you that they are busy, so that you don’t get information. I love the fact that you can watch the transaction live and see exactly what has happened and when, who has been in touch with whom and why there has been delays. It also helps the client to chip in and help things along where necessary, almost making the client feel part of the MJP team and fully included in everything that is going on. Despite getting to exchange being particularly turbulent due to being unable to reach the upward chain solicitor, the dedicated exchange and completion team showed great tenacity and drive in pursuing them to ensure that exchange and completion happened promptly. Update 15/12/22: I have just used MJP Conveyancing again for the sale of a different property. I have used them multiple times now. I can honestly say that they are the best conveyancing company that I have ever dealt with. They are very reasonably priced. You have many case workers working on your file so everything is progressed promptly. I rate this company very highly. Update 20/11/23: MJP have surpassed themselves again for another property I have used them for. All my original comments still stand. This time I wasn't living locally to them, but their portal means that they can deal with any client nationally. My current purchase was fairly complicated. Normally I wouldn't have seen a turnaround for a purchase such as this for 3 months plus minimum. Through their portal MJP have cut this time line by at least 1 month - this one taking just over 2 months from offer. Really impressive. They are also highly responsive, friendly and polite when you converse with them via their messaging system in the portal. From a legal standpoint, they are second to none in terms of making sure every legal avenue is explored and they do this quickly. I have seen MJP blossom over the years and I wish them well for future success.

MJP are very professional and highly responsive. They flagged issues and asked questions that even the seller's solicitors weren't aware of. They were clear in explaining every step of the process to me and were prompt to respond to all my queries. Their T&Cs state that they may take up to 3 working days to respond to queries, but in my experience it was typically less than 3 hours. I am a first time buyer not in a chain, but even so I have been impressed with how quickly the sale has gone through (less than 3 months). A++

Out of all the people stood there hands out wanting your dosh when you buy or sell (estate agents etc) the only ones which gave great value and took the Ronseal approach, "did what it said on the tin" was MJP have used them before and will again, Their online portal is fantastic all info instantly available, you can see the e-mail trails between all parties, you can see that it is not MJP delaying the process.

We have completed today on our flat, which we bought direct from our Landlord. MJP have been brilliant the whole way through; we found it hard to find a conveyancer that any of our friends recommended. It seemed a common theme that conveyancers always take ages to respond to anything. So we took a punt on MJP after seeing good reviews on this site. And how correct those reviews were. MJP often responded to our queries inside 30 minutes (where friends were talking about days or even weeks to get a response) and they were always friendly and incredibly diligent. In particular, Ben Pett seemed to be the one mostly working on our case and he was really amazing. Thanks to the whole team at MJP.

MJP have been absolutely brilliant. I am very fond of the e-journal system where you can see live updates on everything happening on your file. My transaction took over a year due to problems with the seller not MJP, and MJP were both patient and really supportive. Replies to queries are extremely fast, usually within a couple of hours, and they have a great personal touch. The transaction went through extremely fast. Highly recommend.

My only feedback in terms of improving the service would be for the instructions of what is needed from the client in terms of forms etc need to be slightly clearer and easier. Excellent service, can't recommend them enough! Love the online platform. It was all very smooth and fast. They responded to all my queries same day (or early next day if I messaged them in the evening). I didn't need to call them once. All ID checks were done via an app. Only thing that could be improved is modernising the design, flow the wording of the website a bit, as a less technical minded person might get a bit confused.
