MJP CONVEYANCING CHARITY OF THE YEAR


As part of our ongoing commitment to support worthwhile causes and give back to the community, MJP Conveyancing have chosen to undertake a year-long programme of fundraising events in aid of the housing charity Shelter.

All of our staff are excited to get involved, show their commitment to helping people in need, and give something back by participating in a fun-packed year of challenging activities to raise as much money as possible for this worthy charity.

“Moving people as we do, it is often easy to overlook those who are not so fortunate and who struggle to find a home, even a temporary one. The news that the Government has made a commitment to eradicate rough sleeping by 2027 is a step in the right direction but it is not any means a complete fix.
It is for this reason that MJP Conveyancing have chosen to align our business with Shelter and to see what we can do to support not only those who do not have a roof over their head, but also those who are homeless due to the shortage of genuinely affordable homes, unstable renting, and housing benefit problems.
There is a need to address the root of the problem and it MJP’s wish to devote some of our time and resource in supporting Shelter with its efforts.”

29th September 2018 – Obstacle Course Challenge against CDS
MJP Conveyancing are pleased to be gearing up for a day of mud and sweat as they go head to head for an obstacle challenge race at the Playground in Bury St Edmunds.

The event will kindly be sponsored by CDS, with participants from local financial advisers; Premier Financial Group & Charwins Private Clients.
Don't be fooled by the name, it is a 25-obstacle course that will challenge their wits and fitness!!

19th August 2018 – Tour de Broads
Avid cyclist Madeleine (who is recovering from knee surgery and a partially ruptured Quadricep muscle) is tackling 50 miles of road in the Tour de Broads - No mean feat.

Congratulations to Maddie for completing the 50m Tour de Broads yesterday, a big achievement considering her recent leg op and great to be raising awareness for Shelter. Maddie said 'I enjoyed every minute of the experience, and was a great challenge for my knees! Plus it was even better wearing the eye-catching bright red vest of Shelter!'

MJP Conveyancing are delighted to be supporting Shelter, a housing and homelessness charity that helps more than a million vulnerable adults and families every year. Shelter offers advice, signposting and legal help in all areas of housing, and tackles the root causes of bad housing by lobbying government and local authorities for new laws and policies to improve the lives of homeless and badly housed people.

We help people in need with our expert advice and support:

Face-to-face services - Our advice and support services across the UK give people one-to-one, personalised help with all of their housing issues.

National helpline - Our free emergency helpline is open 365 days a year and is often the first port of call for people facing a housing crisis.

Online advice - You can find expert information about everything from reclaiming your deposit to applying as homeless, and you can talk to an adviser over webchat.

Legal support - Our solicitors provide free legal advice and attend court to help people who’ve lost their homes or are facing eviction.

So please donate what you can for this worthy cause. Every penny helps!

  • For every £1 you donate, 79p goes towards helping people struggling with bad housing and homelessness.
  • £5 could answer a web chat, giving a family advice that could help them keep their home.
  • £10 could answer an urgent call to our helpline and help find a child a home.
  • £25 could pay for a family to get the face-to-face advice they need to avoid losing their home.
  • £1,412 could pay for our digital advice service to run for an entire day- helping people find the information they need.
  • £5,085 could pay for the national emergency helpline to run for a whole week helping people across the country with their housing problems.
